Vision Statement: NJBA - leader of the New Jersey Broadcasting Industry, is a fiscally sound organization with clear direction, a stable and diverse membership, and the ability to effectively support, represent, and achieve success for its members. We do know that the new GM is from outside the state. Arbitron Meets With NJBA Board The result, Nothing resolved. Arbitron suggests that they could provide Ocean County with meters, but not until the middle of 2008. They offered no pricing, even though the attendees suggested that they should be treated just like every other place in the country and be priced accordingly. Arbitron said, “We’ll get back to you”. So another meeting will be scheduled during the middle of April, although the feeling in the room was that the meeting and the answers have to happen sooner, perhaps in March. Free Amber Alert Training The AMBER Alert program has been credited with the recovery of more than 300 missing children. Yet despite its many successes, confusion often surrounds the way these alerts are issued and distributed. That's why the U.S. Department of Justice is sponsoring a series of one-day training sessions done by the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Media, online editors, AMBER Alert coordinators and law enforcement work through training scenarios derived from actual AMBER cases at the Ifra Newsplex, USC's newsroom of the future .There is no charge for the training. The Justice Department will pay 100% airfare or mileage, hotel, training, and meals during training. More info: contact Terri Moorer at 803-348-0445.
