Arbitron Negotiations Crawl Forward The NJBA Board of Directors and Arbitron continue to negotiate the People Meter for the state of New Jersey. As it stands now, Arbitron has agreed to come up with the pricing for the people meter in all counties that have breakout books from either New York or Philadelphia Counties. The negotiations are proceeding along a positive path, abet at a snails pace. NJBA Board Of Directors Say No To Satellite Monopoly By unanimous vote, the New Jersey Broadcasters Association Board of Directors voted to oppose the merger of XM and Sirius Satellite Radio. The board cited the fact that by having the two services compete benefits the listening public, in both the programming and the pricing. As the satellite operators compete for listeners, the public wins. The satellite companies have been losing millions of dollars in operating revenue every single month, and although they have talked about turning the corner on profit, it hasn’t happened yet and is not likely to happen in the foreseeable future. Please run spots promoting the Howard L. Green Humanitarian Award as often as possible. Thanks! Reminders: Keep your FCC inspection up to date. It’s the cheapest insurance you can get.
